The Village
of Bradley Comprehensive Plan includes discussion of the need for “Greenways and
Trails.” Drafting of the village’s 2007 amendment to the comprehensive plan was
achieved by a cooperative effort of planning consultants, village staff, village
officials, and local residents and business leaders.

was glad to participate in this
effort by drafting some sections and paragraphs of the plan, as well, as drawing
various plan map exhibits. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to prepare a
plan for linking retail and employee centers, schools, neighborhoods, and parks
with sidewalks and multi-use paths. We were also able to encourage the
protection of important waterways by defining greenways along Soldier Creek and
the Exline Slough. The Village of Bradley’s Comprehensive Plan provides a
framework for decision making that now includes consideration of pedestrian and
bicycle ways, green areas to protect local waterways, and regional recreational
facilities.
