Jack Meece started providing civil engineering services out of his home
more than 35
years ago. He was the sole proprietor of MEECE Engineering. Jack’s work
included public infrastructure projects in the Village of Bradley and the
Village of Bourbonnais. These projects included much needed modernization of
the infrastructure and improved flood control for both villages. MEECE Engineering grew
along with these Villages in the 1970’s, 1980’s, and early 1990’s. Jack
planned and developed Briarcliff Subdivision in the Village of Bourbonnais in
the 1970’s. This project introduced the concept of a master planned
community to the area by integrating varying residential and commercial uses in
a planned unit development with common spaces, scenic trails, and purposeful
stormwater management. Jack was
involved in the planning and design of Bradley’s retail expansion near the Route
50, I-57 interchange which started in 1980 and continues today.
Mike Gingerich, Todd Gereaux, Don Mayes, and Marvin DeLahr purchased Jack
Meece’s business in April 1996, forming the partnership of Meece Gingerich &
Associates. This partnership afforded a mix of expertise and experience which
allowed the firm to continue and expand MEECE’s reputation for integrity,
ingenuity, and a sensible approach to providing service and problem solving. As
you will see by reading the brief resume provided for Mike, Todd, and Don, these
partners have a diverse career history and academic record.
Mike Gingerich worked in the late 1990’s to expand the firm’s market from
Kankakee County to much of the Northern Illinois Region. The firm grew from 13 to nearly
50 employees in 5 years and opened a second office. Providing service in this
expanded area introduced new political challenges and design concepts to the
firm. This sparked a great deal of professional and personal growth in the
partners, associates, and employees. You may review some recent projects that
demonstrate the firm has grown to be a leader in providing civil engineering,
land surveying, and planning services in the Northern Illinois Region. Todd Gereaux and Don Mayes spent much of this same time updating the firm’s design
systems and training new professionals in the basics of design and drafting.
The partnership revised its name to M. Gingerich Gereaux & Associates (MG2A)
and relocated the Bradley office to its current home in 2001. At that time MG2A
developed a mission statement. MG 2A’s mission is to provide innovative,
cost effective solutions for designing, constructing, and managing public and
private structures and infrastructure. MG2A
has identified three
objectives that support their mission. The first objective is to develop, serve, and retain an excellent client base. MG2A
meets this objective by delivering expert services in a friendly, reliable, and
timely manner. MG2A’s best advertising is word of mouth references. The second
objective is to apply available technology and creative thinking in the planning
of communities, residential neighborhoods, business centers, and in the
protection and enhancement of natural resources. The safety, health, and
welfare of communities is held paramount. MG2A’s third objective is to develop
and maintain a highly trained, enthusiastic, and well paid staff. This objective is
achieved by supplying economic support for training and education, furnishing a
positive work atmosphere, and providing jobs that require high pay and skill
levels for our staff.
